Schoolchildren in Sweden’s Värmland have been switched to distance learning

The rate of coronavirus infection among schoolchildren in Värmland in central Sweden has increased significantly over the past week and the regional authorities have decided to put schoolchildren back into distance learning. This was reported by the SVT news service.

On 7 June, Värmland’s children and education committee decided to introduce distance learning in several municipal schools in the region.

Some public schools have also decided to follow the example of public schools.

It is noted that the last days of schooling during the spring term this year will take place remotely.

The largest outbreak has occurred at Engelska Skolan, located in Karlstad. Last week, 84 students and 13 teachers were infected with the coronavirus there.
