FinPa is working with Talent 2 to create an innovative approach to deliver the Certificate IV in Business Administration and the Certificate III in Business online.
Both courses will be fully online by the end of October 2011 and currently there are hundreds of students enrolled in both courses.

We have launched Version 5 of our management system! This is a major upgrade and includes evidence gathering features and significant efficiencies for assessors of competency based training.
Students are given the opportunity to gather three different forms of evidence for assessment as they work through the training. They can also go directly to the assessment if they believe they are already competent. All assessment results are stored in the FinPa LMS.

FinPa has recently signed a partnership deal with Deanmac Emergency Services re the SafeWorking suite of online training products.
Deanmac Emergency Services are industry leaders in life safety and emergency management preparedness, services and training. They operate in heavy industry, Major Hazard Facilities, 24 hour processing industries, including oil, gas, electricity and sensitive sites such as defence and Healthcare facilities and mining sites.

FinPa is currently putting the finishing touches to an online resource we have developed in partnership with Australia Post.
"Suspect mails items" is a course covering Air Cargo Security and Dangerous Goods Awareness procedures. Several thousand Australia Post staff require this mandatory training every year.

Over the last 12 months, FinPa has designed and developed an online version of the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (BSB41407). The online option is being offered by RMIT as a model of delivery for the Cert IV.
This highly interactive, online course includes all the learning material, plus online and workplace based assessment tasks. The resource enables participants to gather a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competency in units from the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (BSB41407).
Participants enrol with RMIT who provide the assessment and RPL options.

We are pleased to welcome two new staff to FinPa. Lucas Wang is joining us as a multimedia developer and Libby Rowswell as an instructional designer.

FinPa has commenced the design and development of an online version of the Certificate III in OHS for the Master Builders Association.
This eLearning resource is part of a blended delivery model offered by the Master Builders Association. It covers the required knowledge of 12 units of competency, provides workplace based activities which are saved as part of a portfolio of evidence. The required knowledge is assessed online and the resource is delivered via FinPa's learning management system.

Hazard a Guess, is an exciting eLearning resource developed by WorkCover NSW and FinPa. It presents four scenarios in a game show environment. The resource is designed to assist employers with their workplace safety induction obligations and to raise OHS awareness among general public and especially young workers.
The Hazard a Guess resource is delivered via FinPa's Learning Management System – enabling employers and managers to assign and monitor training and to access dynamic reports relating to the Hazard a Guess OHS training.
Hazard a Guess is being launched on 1st of March in Sydney.

E-WISE (working in a safe environment) Safety Training Online was launched on Thursday 22nd October in Geelong. It was launched to Field Officers in Group Training Organisations who are responsible for the safe placement of apprentices and trainees in workplaces.
This is an important product and has already made a significant difference to the trial organisations implementation of OHS.

FinPa has completed their second 2009 project for the Faculty of Education at La Trobe University.
In this project we designed and developed an online resource to enhance student learning about research - a core module in the Masters program
Interviews with researchers discussing their approach and issues they face are used to clarify complex concepts
Two head researchers act as presenters to guide the user, discuss diagrams as a means of clarifying complex concepts.

It is now even better! Version 3 includes the following features:
- Redesigned user interface – less technical and more user friendly

FinPa has partnered with the Construction Material Processors Association (CMPA) and have been shortlisted for the Collaborative Internet Innovation Fund (cIIF).
This funding is managed by Multimedia Victoria and is a State government initiative to increase the uptake of Web 2.0 technologies and to support the priorities of the Innovation: Victoria’s Future statement published by the Victorian government.

FinPa Australia has been selected by the Victorian Applied Learning Association (VALA) to design and develop a website that will act as the information hub for a new project called SAFE-T1.
The Safe-T1 project will be undertaken over a three year period (beginning July 2008). The website will provide the opportunity for teachers and students to share resources and ideas and will include a broad range of materials and activities in recognition of different learning and thinking styles, including, the use of multimedia, hands on activities, activities to demonstrate knowledge and application (assessment tasks).

FinPa has been engaged by the Faculty of Education at La Trobe University to design and develop online interactions for practicing teachers, trainers and trainee teachers undertaking post graduate studies.
FinPa is to create interactions that exemplify flagship eLearning units and as the interactions are to be exemplars, SCORM & W3C accessibility are included.

The VastPark platform is a powerful, real time, collaborative learning environment. The VastPark partnership provides real time simulation especially for high risk environments. The learner has the opportunity to experience decision making in dangerous situations, where the impact of their behaviour is clear. The VastPark partnership will enable valid workplace, competency based assessment to be undertaken online.

FinPa has been selected on the Australian Public Service Commission - eLearning Support Services and Solution Panel
The eLearning Support Services and Solutions Panel has been established to:
- improve access to eLearning service providers with a demonstrated track-record;
- encourage adoption of innovative services; and
- ensure content developed for the eLearning environment is of a high standard and appropriate for accreditation (where required).
FinPa are in Canberra this week to participate in the event to formally commence the Panel's operation.
